Denica Flesch is an economist whose experience has shaped her design language. For her, fashion, ethics, economy are the interesting affinity. “I think a lot of problem in fast fashion at the moment is that we do not have any connection anymore with our clothes. And that precisely why we choose handcrafted textile. Because it’s not an anonymous machine who makes our clothes. They are also human who has their stories behind the clothes" she said. Finally, she's channeling her passion for storytelling into fashion design, each piece is inspired by a memorable experience retold trough material and shape. Sukkha Citta, which means happiness in Bahasa Indonesia, is a brand represented her personal vision on how fashion should be ethically be sold. With Sukkha Citta she craved the connection between artisan and customer in order to return the pride. It was the very conscious decision to work exclusively with the artisans in villages. Because I wanted to create the bridge between us in the city and them, who have all the skills in the villages" she stated.
