Satu kancing terlewat

The trend probably is not the first word that springs to our mind when confronted with the multitude of the meaning of a sustainable fashion cycle. But while most of us react to fashion with fast-forward and fast-moving products, Felicia Budi, the creative director of fbudi, sees something else entirely. Authenticity is a perfect premise to illustrate fbudi as a brand and as a personality. Partly motivated by the search of making fashion a sustained cycle, we confidently called her an artist than a fashion designer. Instead of creating a fast-fashion trend, all notions generate the idea of fashion as a respected object. For the creative director point of view, fashion is sometimes beyond life necessity. Fashion offers both emotional and cognitive connection; the dialogue, the connectedness and (also) the disconnectedness of our feeling and of what we wear. During 9th-24th November 2019, fbudi held a special exhibition called "Satu Kancing Terlewat". The exhibition takes on the idea of fashion and its cycle as a philosophical concern. Each of the exhibited objects is the story about the bridge between the simple component of our life such as fabric, clothes, eyewears, bags or headphone and our tension of possession and contentment. Besides, the exhibition also marked its ninth years of transformation. A unique chance to dive into the dialogue of what’s important in the fashion industry, and how we as the consumer can contribute to build a sustainable fashion cycle for a better self yet future. And this is the right moment to rehearse what we think about fashion.
